Linger - Maggie Stiefvater I definitely don´t want to tell Maggie here what she should´ve made different because I´m definitely in no position to do so. It is her book and her story and if I don´t like it than it is my problem. I´m just trying to put into words here why I felt kind of disappointed by this book. Well I guess I can manly blame my really high expectations for it. “Shiver” had left me with a satisfied feeling of love, romance, fulfilled destinies and desires and happiness and everything else that made it perfect in my opinion. So I was a bit shocked to hear that there is in fact a sequel coming out and skeptical to see how the story will continue. I couldn´t help but get excited by the idea of seeing this amazing love story continue. And I guess that´s exactly where the disappointing part starts.Of course there were a lot of really nice and beautifully written parts between Sam and Grace and I still sometimes felt the deep love they have for each other but it sometimes felt more like reading about an old married couple than two teenagers that are madly in love and just managed to overcome the one thing that held them apart. I just sometimes wish that the focus would´ve had been a bit more on the love story between these two characters then seeing Coles wicked past, for example. Don´t get me wrong I really like Cole and I think he was an interesting new character that brought along interesting new storylines but a little bit less of him and his drama would´ve maybe been better in my opinion. ...
